I have designed products from three seats: as a senior individual contributor, as a director leading a team, and now as a principal. Each one changed what I notice. Together they let me see the whole process, and design through different lenses.

From director to principal
At Copado I led the design team as Director. As the product organisation grew and its hierarchy changed, the director role no longer fit that structure. So I moved to Principal, and I welcomed it. I missed designing, researching and defining products, and I came back with what leading a team had taught me.
